Dear all,

As you may have heard, I will be swimming the Tiburon Mile again this year. The event will take place next Sunday, October 17th. It is a world-renowned open water event that attracts current Olympians and open water champions from all over the world. It comprises of just over 1 nautical mile (2000 yards) from Angel Island State Park to Sam’s Cafe in Tiburon. I will swim it this year again without the aid of a wetsuit and I hope I will not get too cold again. They say that this year will be a bit warmer – a cozy 60 degrees! I’ll be hoping all the jellyfish have left the area.

This year I have decided to put my efforts to good use by raising money for the Hospice by the Bay. This is the primary charity that the event supports. The Hospice by the Bay is the main hospice in Marin and Sonoma counties and provides much needed assistance to people in their final stage of life and their families.

I would be grateful if you would consider sponsoring me, but please don’t feel obliged. However, keep me in your thoughts next Sunday morning and hope for calm, sea-life free waters with favorable currents.
